A tsunami, 100 feet tall
Making landfall
On the parched shore of my heart.
Filling it with love
Slowly, steadily
Enriching it, then drowning it
Whirlwind of emotions
Swallowing everything in its wake
A distant memory, a happily-ever-after dream
Reduced to rubble.
Blinded, bruised, battered
Must have been my fault.
Again?
Again.
As the second wave gets ready,
I close my eyes
And face it all over, again.
